Good point...also Manny plays in a much better lineup so you have to consider that. I still think Vlad has a slight advantage over Manny considering his batting average and steals make up for the extra homers and RBI that Manny will get you, but it's real close.

Because Vlad's edge in SB is much bigger than Manny's edge in HR or RBI and Manny's AVG is going to continually slip slightly as he's getting old while Vlad is still in his prime.

I'd be happier getting Manny at 5 than Vlad at 3. If it came down to them both being there at 4th pick (I like Teixeira 3), I'd go with Ramirez.

Manny's BA dipped a bit last year mostly because he always mashed left handed pitching , but last year he really struggled vs the southpaws. It could be viewed as the start of a slight decline.

I'm a Sox fan and I have Vlad ahead of Manny by 2 spots.

i take vlad over manny because of the sb and because i think he'll rack up more ab, as well.

not to sidetrack the thread, but am i the only one concerned with teixeira's poor road stats? you guys are putting him in the 3-5 slots overall, and his batting average on the road is .064 points lower. in a similar number of at bats (~300), he hit half has many home runs.

i'm not saying he's not a first-rounder, but better than vlad or manny? hmm.... :-?
