I personally think he was a bit mismanaged by the Phillies in the minors. He had such a good curve that they only let him throw it a limited time, in the long run I think this hurt his developement. When I see him pitch he just doesn't have the confidence in it to get people out or throw for strikes, which is really odd cause it's an amazing pitch. Another thing that I didn't like from him when I saw him in the minors, yet everyone still loved him at that point was his delivery. It isn't very fluid and looks like if he's not in a rhythem is could easily come out of whack. Add to all of it, that his FB sits at 90 most every time I see him and his stock isn't what it used to be.
Even if his FB just stays at 90 he can still be pretty good, but a lot of it has to do w/ confidence/make up. I'm not sure if he has the type to easily come back from an awful season. He needs to re-stablish his control for one, and start trusting his stuff cause he won't ever be good if he doesn't. It also wouldn't hurt to come up w/ a reliable 3rd pitch ... maybe a cut FB or something to that degree.
Floyd reminds me of Edwin Jackson, everything was/is so messed up with their confidence and mental approach. Because they have the stuff to become pretty good and I hope both still do, but I think Edwin has a better chance at this moment.
