Pitching staff changes?

Postby nsulham » Wed Feb 05, 2003 3:08 pm

10 team, H2H, pitching categories are Wins, K's, ERA, WHIP, Saves and Walks. We start 5 SP and 2 RP. My staff looks like :

Halladay
Miller
Colon
Prior
Pineiro
Wakefield
Benson
B. Myers

Foulke
Williamson
Escobar

I'm pretty sure I'm going to drop Myers from that list and pick up another reliever, or an unsung sleeper starter if I can find one. Relievers I'm looking at (and the pickins' are slim) are Scott Stewart, Dejean, Alfonseca, Matt Anderson, Looper, German, Embree, Rhodes and Dotel. Any thoughts or anyone I missed? Feel free to throw out starter names as well. Thanks ;-D

Trade Williamson? I had him pegged as my #2 RP. That'll leave me pretty thin at RP no? Especially if I get rid of Escobar like you say as well?

I wasn't saying it was a bad strategy I just thought it would leave me pretty weak at that position. And from what I've read on various sites, Williamson is pretty much all the way back and throwing smoke like he was before so I'll just hang onto him. As for Escobar, he's really nothing more than my back-up closer but if I get DeJean then I'll bump Escobar down.

Williamson is going to be the sleep closer of the year, and if Anderson's are feels good, he can reach 100mph!!!

I think he will get the bulk of Cincy's saves but they will use the other rps too:

LANCE DAVIS
OSVALDO FERNANDEZ
PETE HARNISCH
SCOTT SULLIVAN

I think Williamson will get about 20-25 saves tops

I would keep Myers and drop Wakefield. Look at Wakefields career, its a model of inconsistency. Last year was way above his norm. I would drop Escobar for Stewart.

Even though I'm a big Red sox fan I have to agree with Hootie. Myers will be good soon!
