Chadlincoln's Top 100

Postby chadlincoln » Wed Mar 15, 2006 5:00 pm

These rankings favor hitters, just like I do in drafts.

*Edit- I did these overall rankings at 1 in the morning last night and see that I missed a lot of obvious guys. Thanks for pointing out the ones I've missed so far.

This is my top 100 with my league and with my drafting strategy. Typically, I do not draft a pitcher until the 7th-8th rounds unless one falls 2 rounds below where I thought he would be taken. Even then, I compare him to the hitters left on the board, weighing the hitters more heavily. I'm not saying if Santana fell to the 2nd round I wouldn't take him. I would. But he won't fall that far. Hitting is so much more consistent than pitching in terms of the top 50 of each
every year.

It's hard to make overall rankings because it doesn't mean that you'd take the next highest guy off the board. This is where it helps to have them broken out by tiers, something I'll do later.

*Disclaimer* These rankings are based off my gut feelings about how guys will do this year. They probably don't match up totally to how you would rank them, but who wants to read the same old top 100 lists that look the exact same? I'm going higher on some guys and lower on some other guys than some would take here. Feel free to comment on the list. This is the NOT THE list to be used, but a list you might consider to compare with the many other great lists here at the cafe.

Javier Vazquez is WAY too high IMO. What are your projections for him?

No Harden? No Gracia (he's better than Bonderman at this point)? No Edmonds (under Floyd in any ranking I've seen)? Vazquez waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to high. Giambi to high. Pods too high.

Wow, I fogot Harden. If you see my SP rankings, I have him 5th overall SP. I'll insert again.

You have a bunch of pitchers missing from your SP ahead of Hudson that aren't on your top 100.

Last year I had a feeling about Brian Roberts and drafted him in every league. This year, I have a feeling about Javier Vazquez. I see 18 wins, 3.25 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, 230 K's

This is a bold, bold projection for him, but I think he can live up to it on Ozzie's small ball team. I guess I see a breakout, like Garland had, but better.

Nevermind, I saw it in your SP rankings. I hope you're right, but I'm guessing you are at least partially wrong :-b
