We kept 2 guys from last year (so all the big names were off the board). I then had the 11th overall pick.

My strategy was to grab "value" offense early and go after starting pitching really late since good SP usually emerges at the beginning of the year. Obviously my starting pitching is a little weak. Any other ideas or suggestions on how I could improve?

I would try to trade Helton since you already have tex for a good pitcher.

I took Helton early though (my first pick which roughly equates to the 11th pick in the 3rd round). If I traded him, I would have to get a stud in return, and I don't know if that's possible before the season...

You're right though. He's probably my most "tradeable" commodity. I just don't think I could get what I want for him in return. Thanks for the reply.
