ties in H2H play: why is sportsline so tough to configure?

this is a weekly h2h 5x5 league.

we would like the first tie awarded to the home team, and subsequent ties to alternate from the visitor back to the home team, etc...

why is this so difficult?

the only settings available are:
1) no tiebreaker--leave the ties
2) home team wins ALL ties
3) the reserve roster breaks the ties

i tried calling cbs, but got pushed around like the new kid at fat camp.

any help? anyone?

what is the advantage of that over just having the home team always win?

because if there are multiple ties, why should the home team always win?

maybe i'm not being clear. let's say i'm playing your team, and i'm the home team.

if you win runs, rbi, avg, and saves
and i win just strikeouts, era, and whip

but we tie in wins, steals, and home runs...

...i would take the week, 6-4. this, despite having only won three categories! that's my point. sorry if i'm getting worked up. i direct my wrath at sportsline.

We use team BA in our cBS head-to-head league as our first tie-breaker.

I can ask our commish how it was set up, if you want me to?

And yes, they truly suxor in fantasy basketball leagues!

but cbs used to allow this alternating of awarded ties. last year, they changed it with no warning. this year, we're trying to avoid the "home team takes all" scenario.

but the obvious question.. if you don't want one team gaining an advantage on ties, why not keep the ties?

who wants to have a tie hanging over you? this isn't the all-star game! i mean, the point is to make it like it was...it's fun to give the home team a slight advantage, but to win every tie? come on...

I fail to see why you would want to not have ties. If you are playing 5x5 H2h and 10 games are awarded each week, what difference does it make if you get a few ties? Same for everyone else. If you are playing by week for a single W/L, again what difference does it make> Same for everyone else.

It all comes out in the end and the only place a tie can be meaningful is in the playoffs. I rather score the categories the way they are being played and not arbitrarily award a category or a week to a team based on an isolated stat.

I would leave the ties as ties.

PLayer A wins 4 categories
Player B wins 3 categories

The score will be
Player A 5.5
Player B 4.5

That is the default CBS HTH 5x5 scoring format...

That is the way I run my league....
