The Baltimore Sun reports that talks between the Orioles and Cubs that would send Luis Matos (OF) Bal to Chicago for Todd Walker have heated up the past couple of days. The deal apparently hasn't been completed because the O's don't want to pick up Walker's entire $2.5 million contract for this season.
so we're going to trade our best MI for a guy who is getting beat out by Corey Patterson for the O's CF job?
I would say more, but i really like this site and don't need to get booted for extreme profanity.

This most likely would also cut into Murton's playtime and give Neifi more playtime. Though on the bright side maybe it means Jones would platoon.
Must really suck being a Cubs fan.

but you have such a nice little park on the northside. thats all cubs fans care about anyways. if you dont like the product on the field, stop paying to go to the games. hit the cubune company right in the pocket. thats what white sox fans did and now that they have proven themselves, fans are back. cub fans humor the hell out of me.

Is the deal really that bad? I mean the Cubs are TRYING. They just need to do something so the papers don't plaster "Prior to DL" in the headlines. Hey, I bet the White Sox would trade the Cubbies Hideo Nomo for Walker and pick up the 2.5 million! Nomo or Matos? those are nice options to have!
As long as the ivy turns green, the sun shines on the bleachers and the adult beveridges flow throughout the summer, Cubs fans will support their _______ (insert your own adjective here) team.
Go Sox!

Cubbies would be in a lot better situation with a new management.

Maybe Walker for Hee Sop Choi was already explored so now they have moved on to Matos?
