Mike Pelfrey or Jared Weaver?

Mike Pelfrey is the better prospect and has more upside. Pelfrey profiles as a top of the rotation guy, while Weaver seems more suited for a middle of the rotation type pitcher. Weaver's overall stuff isn't as good and he has to rely more on control, another thing not to like is that he an extreme fly ball pitcher which in the end could catch up with him at the MLB level.

Pelfrey on the other hand has two pitches that should be plus, in a mid 90's FB and excellent change up, could be even better if his curve gains more consistency. He has great mechanics with a smooth delivery and well be in a better league (NL) and a nice pitchers park.

I agree with all of that, except with the last sentence. What hybrid meant to say, was that "even though he won't be in the NL as he will be traded to the Devil Rays over the winter, he will be in a better park for pitchers."

LOL, For some reason I don't doubt that he may be traded. However keep in mind that there were questions about Kazmir due to his size (could he handle a full workload). Alot of people question Petit and I am one of them. He doesn't have over powering stuff. Pelfrey I think ranks right up there with Kazmir only difference is Pelfrey has the size to be a #1 I don't think anyone doubts that. Of course Kazmir is a future ace so don't think Im hatin on Kazmir. I own him in a dynasty league but, I also own Pelfrey.

Who is going to be the bigger stud in the years to come. Who has more updside? What is the stroy with both guys, etc?

LOL, Your kidding right? Weaver doesn't even register in my top 10 pitching prospects. I think he is going to be a career mid rotation starter. How the heck can you compare Weaver and Pelfrey? Pelfrey is ALOT better and is a future ace...
