Beltran was injured in 05 so at least he had an excuse.
Also, Teixeira was taken 3rd, 4th overall and produced like an 8th rounder. That is a bust in my book.

Injury or not, Beltran was still a major bust. Worse than Teix this year. Drafted from 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th OVERALL and performing like a waiver wire scrub made him a bust.
Teixiera a bust? Fine. I drafted him this year, and I'll do so again next year and with a smile on my face. Twenty one post ASB HR's, to go along with 105RBI's on the year with a week left is more than enough to select him again in 07.

Yep put a big smile on your face when you draft him in the first round again next year.

I'm totally with Yoda here. Teix was an real bust. He helped with a big power surge after the break but his overall number really aren't top 10 like I figured they would be. I know if I drafted him I probably would be relying on him for my power and he would've hurt me. Anyway, I'd still take him in the first round next year. I'll give him a pass this year, not because he's young or because he plays in Texas, but because of his stats. He dominated at Georgia Tech and then dominated in his brief stint in the minors. He's been a terror for pitchers and absolutely expect that keep up. I'm just looking at some of the positives of this season; increase walk rate and a career high in doubles.

Everything about him (including the fact that he has the most homers in the AL after the break[unless I am forgetting about someone]), indicates that the first half was an aberattion. Next year, Tex will return to his top-12 status.

Yeah just write him off after one bad half of baseball

Am I writing him off how? Are you going to pick him in the first round next year?
