I really doubt that. I just don't know why Texas would. They traded Adrian Gonzalez so that Teix could be the future of the organization. IMO, Texas doesn't have enough in the minors to trade Teix.
Blalock is likely to be dealt....and actually, it wouldn't surprise me to hear Young or Kinsler's name being mentioned in some rumors simply because Arias is ready to play as a MI (preferably SS). Perhaps Young can move to 3rd if Blalock is dealt? Who knows, the possibilities are endless. I do think that if I had to choose one offensive player that I just can't see being traded - it would be Teix.
It is just a rumor but... Teix is due to make 9M in 07 and then become a free agent. If they can't extend his contract, then why not shop him around if you are going to lose him anyway? I also heard that he does not get along with Showalter which may validate the trade rumor.
Finally, they won't get nearly as much for Blalock and/or Young as they can for Teixeira. It will be interesting how this pans out... The suitor apparently is BAL, Teixeira's home town.

Why won't they be able to renew his contract? Texas will have some money to spend, particularly if they deal Blalock. Also, Showalter is on the hot seat...the owners have said he'll be back next year but if you have to think that he's more likely to be kicked out than Teix.
Who would take over at 1b for Texas? Botts?
No way, I just don't see it happening. Blalock, I could see.

Where are you guys hearing this (newspaper/radio/personal source)? Tex to Baltimore just got my attention in a big way.

His agent is Scott Boras... He will likely request a ridiculous contract which may further complicate matters. Especially if his numbers return to 04-05 levels in 07.

30 HR season for Teixeira. Too many people wrote him off as a bust after his 9 HR first half. Dude is back on track with 21 HR in the second half. Next season: 55 HR.

He is a bust this year. His numbers do not even make him a top 50 player.
And I'll bet you that he doesn't hit 55 HR next season.

Beltran was a bust in '05. Tex was a letdown this year, but not a total bust. I'll begrudgingly take the .280 30 100, and look for .285 40 125 next year.
