4 keeper, 10 team, category-based head-to-head league...

I kept Manny, Crawford, Miguel Cabrera and Halladay.

My roster after the draft:

C - J. Lopez
1B - Howard
2B - Roberts
3B - Wright
SS - Lugo
OF - Manny
OF - Crawford
OF - Cabrera
Util - Gomes
BN - Francoeur
BN - Barmes
BN - Willingham (but I need to drop him for a 2B in case Roberts isn't ready. I'm thinking Biggio in favor of Hall, Polanco, Catillo, Vidro, Mackowiak)

SP - Halladay
SP - Pettitte
RP - Lidge
RP - Jenks
P - C. Lee
P - Kazmir
P - Weaver
BN - Liriano
BN - Valverde

I was stoked to get, as the 1 and 20 picker, Wright and Lidge, then Pettitte in the 3rd round. I know I'm too Devil Rays heavy, but I thought they were legit pickups.

Thoughts?

1. Polanco is much better than Biggio this year IMO

2. You need SP depth badly. I would suggest trading some hitting for a stud SP, even if it means giving up a 2nd round hitter for a 2nd round pitcher.

Agreed. Polanco over Biggio.

You can't be a beginner and mention your keepers from year in the same post!

Relative beginner? Only been playing a couple years and haven't quite grasped proper strategies yet. Notice I was picking first.

Beginner level intelligence.

i think his pitching is fine? cliff lee is an 18 game winner and only getting better, kazimir is going to have a great year...and weaver is a solid 5th starter. halliday and pettite are great as your 1 & 2.
Vaughn: What's that sh*t on your chest?

Harris: Crisco, Bardol, Vagisil. Any one of them will give you another two to three inches drop on your curve ball.

You should consider yourself very lucky to be able to draft Wright in a keeper league.

So.... do I go for Polanco over Biggio for 2B? Bill Hall's on the WW, too.

Also, in regard to pitching depth... Daniel Cabrera's on the WW. Do I drop Valverde for him? Or drop Francoeur for him?

I feel Biggio will be stronger out of the gate and would go with him since this is only a fill in until Roberts gets going.

You should be competitive every week, nicely done.

i like biggio a lot i actually have him on my roster....as far as your pitching is concerned...i think you should be all right, see how your staff develops as the year goes on, maybe try to pick someone up in the first month if you need to or trade your offense assuming they are all producing like they should be
