Jul 3 The Houston Astros have placed Kent on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to June 19. The second baseman has missed the team's last seven gams with tendinitis in his left wrist. According to the team physician, there is no structural damage in the wrist. Infielder Dave Matranga has been recalled to take Kent's spot on the Astros' roster.

Advice: With Kent and Jose Vizcaino sidelined, Geoff Blum, Eric Bruntlett and Mantranga all could see playing time at second base for Houston.
