Texas A&M over 'cuse in round 1
Salukis over WVU in round 1
Indiana over Gonzaga in round 2
**Seton Hall over WSU in round 1, AND over Tennessee in round 2**
Northern Iowa over GTown round 1
Final four:
Memphis (possibly UCLA, still on the fence with this one)
Ohio St.
Texas
UConn
Champions:
UConn
I think Memphis is the worst #1 of the four. Anyone buy into the fact that a #3 seed or higher has made it to the final four every year except for one in the past 25 years? Who would be your high seed in there?
I agree with what you have said, and I would just put UCLA through except for the fact that memphis beat them earlier this year. The truth is that none of the Nos 3,4,5 seeds stand out to me as teams that could pull it off.
Louisian bracket:
#3: Iowa, good team, but final four quality? Texas has beat them before and should beat them again... if not, the dukies will.
#4/5: LSU & Syracuse. A team that was on the bubble prior to the big east tournament and now is a 5 seed, I don't see 'cuse doing it. LSU is one of the few lower seeded (not 1/2) teams that I could see making a run, I've thought about having them beating Duke in the sweet 16, in which case I could see them pulling it off.
Oakland:
Gonzaga: not enough D, and rely too much on Morrison, I can't see them pulling it off.
Kansas: Could make a run, but are a bit too inexperienced for my taste...
Pitt: Much too streaky, have a tendency to be unfocused and make too many turnovers to make a run deep into the tournament.
Washington:
Tennessee: Not enough D, and inside prescene IMO
UNC/Illinois: Both have a shot, but UNC is a bit inexperienced, and I don't think Illinois can handle UConn
Minneapolis:
This is the most open-ended region IMO, I think any of the top four teams could win it here, but I'm inclined to go with Nova or Ohio St.
