Hey! This is a 16 team head to head league, non auction and non keeper. We had the draft last night, I had eighth pick, and this is what I ended up with:
C: J. Willingham
1B: R. Sexson
2B: M. Giles
3B: D. Wright
SS: F. Lopez
OF: C. Crisp
OF: A. Rowand
OF: J. Dye
Util: T. Hafner
Util: M. Sweeney
Bench: J. Gibbons
SP: R. Halladay
SP: N. Lowry
SP: S. Kazmir
RP: F. Cordero
RP: R. Dempster
P: C. Reitsma
P: K. Escobar
Bench: K. Rogers
with the categories being:
R, 2B, HR, RBI, SB, AVG, OBP, SLG
and
W, SV, K, HLD, ERA, WHIP
I'm not a huge fan of my pitching, especially starting... but should I stick with it? Any advice on deals I should try and make? Thanks a lot for any tips!
Your team is good for 16 teams. It more of potential the anything. If you young player (Kasmir, Lowry, Rowand) all produce you bee a decent team. Your offense looks balance
Looks good; Wright is a solid eighth pick and SP's are pretty shallow for everyone this year.
You probably got Willingham really late in the draft, and I would think he'll probably turn out well for you, while everyone was probably wasting early picks on guys like Ramon Hernandez and Javy Lopez. Sexson, Giles, Lopez, Crisp are all solid picks and the rest will speak for themselves.
As for the pitching, you'll be ok with Halladay, Lowry and Kazmir; if you drop anyone, it should probably be Rogers. I think last year might have been a fluke and even that wasn't stellar. What other SP's are available on the wire?
Also, Reitsma is closing, but he's a lousy closer at best and may not keep the job through the All-Star break. Cordero is solid and Dempster tends to be underrated.
Nice team. Very Young, though. That could be good or bad. You look like you have evrything you need. I just dont kno about Kazmier....
Is pushing for President Obama to pass a law requiring all citizens to be Chicago White Sox fans and make October 1st "White Sox Day" where we all dress as our favorite player. It maybe socialist, but I don't care.
All of those pitchers on waivers are questionable, IMO... as is K. Rogers. But that is what you'd expect from a 16 team league. I think Cabrera is gong to have a better year than Rogers... He has quite a fastball there, and a new coach to help him gain control of it. I'd take a chance on him if I was you.
