Hello thought I would ask if you guys see this team as a winner as much as I do! This is a simple 10 team roto leauge. So please give me a fair and honest rating.

Stats for hitting are: R, H, 2B, HR, RBI, SB, AVG,


Stats for pitching are: W, SV, K, ERA, WHIP

Its pretty clear SS and 1B are my worst positions. In my defence Lugo is not a sexy choice but solid and Barnes to back him up isn't to shabby. 1B is the biggest problem I have some good WW choices like Shelton, Sweeney, Overbay, Hillenbrand, Gibbons, Nick and Dan Johnson, and Sean Casey. However, I choose with Jacobs due to his high upside. I also have some huge trade chips in Gomes and Chavez to add a good 1B

My rotation is pretty strong but if smoltz or Harden goes down it could be trouble. I have 3 very good closers. Some waiver wire pitchers are Weaver, Radke, Maddux, Byrd, Wakefield, Suppan, Morris, Bedard, Cabrera, and Oliver Perez.

Any advice would be apperciated! I will of course do my best to respond to your problems also so do leave a link!

you are weak at 1B, 2B and SS, otherwise you will dominate and you should pick up weaver and oliver perez, but don't play perez until he proves it later in the season because he is a risk

I don't know about 1B Jacobs, but if you prefer him to the FAs you listed, then go for it and I wish you the ebst of luck. You're fine with SBs with Lugo, Pierre, and Beltran. However outside of A-Rod, your power numbers seem a bit low for a 10-teamer since you don't really have anyone gaurenteed to belt 30+ HRs (though Bay is certaintaly able to).

Harden is a stud and Smoltz is under-valued so that's a nice 1-2 punch. Haren, Blanton, and Bonderman are all solid but unspectacular. I like Lowry too. Great depth, and no weakness overall, but probably not one of the top 2 SP staffs either. Street/Turnbrow are also both very good. Street is great.

I like your team to be easily playoff eligible, but you might need some more power to make it a championship team.

You are absolutely correct. I could deal Ichiro or Beltran for a slugger and look to add that 1B.

I like your team. If you're worried about 1B I'd look into taking Gibbons off the WW. All signs point to 30 HR's this year. He seems to be a bit more proven than Jacobs, and plays in a more favorable lineup and ballpark. I think Lugo will be fine at SS.

I agree. I think Gibbons is a player who I like much more than Jacobs. I have a tendency to want guys like Jacobs on my team because I want to show everybody my stud-scouting skills, when in general I would have better teams if I went with the safer, more proven guy.

your team looks pretty good....ive heard some good things about dan johnson in seattle....he might be a good pick up....hopefully the A's staff gets it done for you
