Me and some friends started up a free CBS league this year. I'm mostly a football guy, but have experimented with baseball in the past. As I am very goot at fantasy football, probably not-so-much at fantasy baseball. Please tell me how you think I did.
10 Teams
Start: C, 1B, 2B, SS, 3B, 3 OF, UTIL, 7 P
This was the first time I've seen this scoring system. H2H but on a points based system.
Scoring
Batters:
1B - Singles 1 point
2B - Doubles 2 points
3B - Triples 3 points
BB - Walks (Batters) 1 point
HR - Home Runs 4 points
R - Runs 1 point
RBI - Runs Batted In 1 point
SB - Stolen Bases 2 points
Pitchers:
BBI - Walks Issued (Pitchers) -0.5 points
CG - Complete Games 5 points
ER - Earned Runs -1 point
HA - Hits Allowed -0.5 points
INN - Innings 2 points
K - Strikeouts (Pitcher) 1 point
S - Saves 10 points
W - Wins 10 points
Now batters don't seem too skewed with the except OBP seems a bit more valued and BA less so. But pitching made me think. Same amount of points for a W and a SV? Plus starting up to 7 pitchers at once. i thought that an intersting experiment would be an all-closer staff. Seven guys who can put up 30-40 saves and 1-2 reserves that can plug in in case of injury could be my best bet to field a solid staff while using my early picks on offence. Lineups are locked each week. No minimum innings needed.
This is how it turned out:
Lineup
C: Joe Mauer
1B: Mark Teixera
2B: Chase Utley
