Hitting in an 8-team head-to-head league is essential, as it is far more consistent on a week-to-week basis than pitching. One 9 run/5 inning performance from a starter, and your ERA/WHIP will have trouble rebounding for the week.
I'm sure your pitching is in the bottom 1/4 of the league as it stands, but I like your two closers. Be sure to stock up on a cheaper save guy, like a Reitsma or a C.Ray, who is probably still available on your wire. I love Halladay, and think he's going to have a lot of bang for wherever you drafted him. Schmidt is a pretty calculated risk, but something about him to me as always screamed "steroids." Mostly baseless, but he
has lost some velocity.
I'm fine with Weaver and Bedard, but they probably deserve a spot on the waiver wire of an 8-team league. See if you can't package Bay/Schmidt or something comparable for Santana, and you'll be set. Wright might also be a good bargaining chip for a top SP, as Rolen will fit just fine into the hot corner in such a league. Good draft overall.
