Griffey or Podsednik

Postby Wino » Thu Jul 03, 2003 10:53 pm

I have Griffey and as everyone knows he sucks. I keep him because I always think he is ready to turn to corner. Yeah right.

Anyway, I don't start him often and noticed that Podsednik is available in my 14 team 5x5 league.

My OF in general sucks with:

Millar
Everett
White
Alou
Baldelli
Griffey

Surprisingly I am in 2nd place only 2 games out thanks to Rolen, Delgado, Soriano, Renteria and Furcal.

If I can improve my OF, I may have a chance.

The folks in my league are boring and don't make trades. Even the guys 30+ games out of first.

I agree, The CHANCE that Griffey could turn it around is better then anything Posednik might promise.

Drop White or Alou. Pick up Podsednik.

Before grabbing Podsednik, I'd look at Matos.

If you sort by averages in Yahoo and then by rank, Matos ranks a surprising 3rd overall. That is 2nd for hitters, behind only Soriano! Matos will steal bases about as often as Pod, but should contribute in HR's and RBI's as well.

I doubt he puts up these stats the rest of the way, but 30 some games is a decent sample size, so he's worth a shot short term.

I agree with going out and trying to get Matos.

Do everything in your power to dump Griffey. He has lost any and all value.

Good call on Matos. Give him a ride.

Oh yea, drop either White or Griffey. It might be worth dropping Griffey just because it's so infuriating watching him put up 0-fers while convincing yourself a return to form is just around the corner. The fact is, he has returned to form - it's just that it's a shell of his former self.
