I like in Massachusetts, a good 5 hours away from NY City.

My friends and I were bet that if we left at midnight we wouldn't be able to make it to NY City to get a hot dog and back in time for school (7:50am)

The bet is $200...should we take it? The roads will be empoty and we can go fast. anny suggestions

Impossible. Even traffic free, you'll get held up once you get South of Westchester/Rockland County. It's slow moving down there, plus any pull over by the police would kill your chances by default. On top of it all, you'd have a much easier time finding a pretzel than a hot dog at 4:30 - 5 am.

Who's the one giving you $200 if you can do it?

It'll be hard to chop off a good 2 hours worth of driving by just driving fast (at a rate that you won't get pulled over atleast). You can probably do it if you left a few hours earlier though and even if it's not a bet, it'd be funny to waltz into school with a [fairly] fresh NYC hot dog. :-b

Why leave at midnight? It would still awesome if you left at 10 and made it to school on time.

BTW, it's more like 4 hours away, not 5.

And I say you should just skip school and check out NYC for a little longer than it would take to get a dog. Or cheat and go someplace closer and get the 200 bucks. Whatever.

that would be sick.

Great idea for when I am a senior.

One of my friends has a new mustang so it would be awesome.

Interesting bet, i think you could make it if you knew where you could get a dog beforehand and you knew your way around...and assuming you went pretty fast.

And the bragging you could do would be awesome

How do you know where in MA he lives? ;-)

It's closer to 5 from my house in Newburyport.

Anyways you said yourself a good 5 hours both ways? And you want to do it in 7.5 hours? No way.

Dude... I used to LOVE that bar/resturant "The Grog" in Newburyport... haven't been there in a long time though (having two kids does that to a guy).

Yeah that's still one of the best restaurants downtown. B-) Not Your Average Joe's moved in to the firehouse where Ciro's used to be(if you know where I mean) and I think they took away quite a bit of business from them. :-t
