Rueter even worth owning?

Postby CBMGreatOne » Thu Jul 03, 2003 3:03 pm

The last few games I haven't been starting him and I can't say I'm not thrilled each time I look at the performance he has turned in that he is on the bench. Time to cut him? 8 runs in two innings today by the way.

i dont even know why this guy is owned in ML. he doesnt strike out and doesnt even help ur ERA WHIP. he can get the occasional win here and there but rather than that .. his not worth keeping

If you need wins he does get usually like 15 a season.

Not a good idea to start a lot of pitchers against Cardinals.

I have him on my roster and he was on my bench luckly for me.

I don't even draft guys like him. He's old, he's average, he doesn't excel anywhere and really doesn't have a chance to.

Rueter is one of those guys who is worth a whole lot more in the real world than in rotoland. He's the consummate #4 starter. Never misses a start, goes around 6 IP most of the time, gives up a few runs almost every time, and at the end of the year there he is with 13-14 wins. In other words, a decent guy toward the end of a decent rotation.

But because he'll never get many K's, and usually won't earn you much in ERA or WHIP (although his 3.23 last year was a surprise) he is worth very little in our game.
