Good news, I posted Jockpunks suggestion and the guy who is disbanding his team posted the following message:

sounds fair....i will take trades based on standings. i will start trading on saturday. i think i can only have 5 trades pending at one time. i will execute the first 5 trades in order of team standings. you might want to post your second choice in case another team ahead of you wants the same player. i have a feeling it will happen. i only have several players that anyone would want (i think!)!!!

Thanks for the input guys! I have to give the guy disbanding his team credit too. That's cool that he's at least going about this in a fair manner.

I saw a similar message in a lame YAHOO league. The guy was getting sent to Iraq I guess. Most of the trades were vetoed.

I'd prefer the guy just let his team go dead than let everyone rape his team and ruin the competetive balance of the league based on who can offer a trade first.
