Anybody heard anything recent on U. Urbina?

As far as I know he's still rotting in prison, correct? You'd think with all the pull and money that these owners have that they could pull some strings with a ambassador or congressman and put some pressure on the foreign government. That is if he's innocent or maybe even if he's guilty they could do it too. Anybody know anything else?

Whomever gets him out though, he;d probably sign there. Atlanta maybe?

I think that he's Venezuelan so the US Ambassador, MLB reps, etc. have little pull. I'd suspect he's several degrees south of Oz... 8-o

Well, I'm willing to bet that if he were a Yankee or the Yankees wanted him they'd get him out.

I doubt that the Yankees (or any team for that matter) have that kind of pull. Isn't Urbina in prison on attempted murder charges, among others? If it was that easy I doubt Ray Carruth would be sitting in prison right now. :-D

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

George Steinbrenner would be able to do nothing except hire a high priced lawyer. If Urbina is guilty he is in big trouble.

Well, its a currupt government. So Urbina might be being held for money. Give the gvt 4 mill AMERICAN to let Urbina go. If he is in fact guilty and it turns out that the person he did attempt to kill was involved with his mother's kidnapping, I might of done the same thing.
