For those interested, so far this spring 5 IPs 5 Ks, 1 run (solo homerun). I know spring don't mean a thang in most instances, but its good to see him having sucess and control. Nearly 9K per 9 innings last season. Good sleeper candidate.

Agreed. I picked him up as my #6 starter figuring he was worth taking a flyer on for his k/9 rate. It looks as if he's the front-runner for the 5th spot in the rotation, especially if his numbers stay like this.

I think Minaya makes a move for starter this year and Heilman starts the year in the bullpen where I think he will be most valuable to the Mets. But I like the dual SP/RP eligibilty factor he has.
