I think I am probably alone in putting Cain last of the four, but I had him in a 20 team keeper league last year and let him go... I had picked him up for the k's, and he didn't get hardly any in the majors... if you think the Giants fielders (sans Vizquel) will continue to protect Cain then think again...
For this year its a tossup... Verlander and Cain have the most solid spots in the rotation, but also are more volatile in my mind. I think both McCarthy and Liriano will dominate, whether in the pen or starting. If your league counts holds then I would probably go Liriano McCarthy Verlander Cain, but otherwise I guess Verlander and Cain move to the front... for this year. In 2 or 3 years Liriano should be the clear leader of this group...

How exactly does Verlander have a solid spot in the rotation? Are you referring to AA or AAA?

I can't imagine the Tigers will have Verlander pitch sporadically when he can be pitching every 4-5 days in the minors. He would need to absolutely dominate ST to earn a roster spot I would think.

well, i live in Detroit and basically get a daily update on verlander from the paper...he's getting every opportunity for the #5 spot and i'll be suprised if he doesnt end up there. with that said, i wouldnt be at all upset if they give him more time in AAA

Pitching prospect Scott Baker pitched well over the final two months of the season last year, and should be considered the frontrunner for the twins 5th rotation spot. Liriano will not pitch in the bullpen, as the organization has stated it doesn't want to make the same mistake it did with Santana. That being said, Liriano is the future and should make his way into the rotation by June or July.
Yeah from what I've heard it sounds like Baker will get the 5th spot. But I can't see how they can have Lohse in the rotation much longer if he continues to stink up the joint.
