I grabbed this guy because I heard that he has huge upside even though he tore his MCL last year. He looks good in ST so far. I am just wondering what people think of him and possible projections?

He's only 25 but he could emerge into a 2B with decent power numbers. I'd like to see him bat 2nd (because Wilson is a horrible batter). But he plays in Pit, I'm thinking maybe 60R 15 hr 70rbi .280avg 8-10 SB are his max this year. Could be a sleeper at a weak position I guess.

Yes, he does have huge upside. I really feel he has good power and could develop into a Felipe Lopez type player in a worse hitting ballpark. Being in the 2 hole would help that, but I don't know if that'll happen this year.

Wow, that is right on. I was thinking who he COULD (not necessarily WILL) compare to, and Felipe Lopez in a worse park seems like the perfect comparison. I think his absolute ceiling will be 20HR, 15SB, but I wouldn't necessarily expect it. Seeing as he's usually around in the last round of a draft, I think that makes him a nice low risk/high reward guy at a weak position.

I have picked Castillo up in a few of my leagues hoping that he hits in the 2 hole in front of Bay. I think he could become a solid 15 homer, 15 steals player if he can stay healthy in that #2 hole this year.

His stolen base numbers from the minors is decent, does anyone have any thoughts on whether he will translate these into major league numbers to be a 15-20 SB threat or can we expect around 10 as an average??

I'm sure it will all depend on where he's hitting in the order and how much the coaches want to run him...I don't see why he can't steal 15-20 bases if he gets on base enough times.

At this point, I have no idea who is going to hit 2nd...I've heard that Tracy really wants to get Casey/Bay/Burnitz/Randa together in the order. So, if Bay bats 3rd which is probably his best spot, then Casey will be the second hitter. I'm sort of dreading that due to all the double plays Casey can ground into, but I don't know anything for sure yet. They could put Casey 3rd and Bay 4th, and I don't think it'd be a problem, but that would mean less AB's for Bay.

That puts Jose down in the 7 hole most likely. I don't think a lot of 7th hitters put up big steal numbers. I am guessing this is the spot where he will start the year.

Hitting #7 will hurt his run production in addition to SBs.

I would not say that he has a "huge" upside, but he has the potential to be decent fantasy player in the sense that he will be a good option if your starting 2B gets hurt.
