There's a player on the waiver wire who will hit .300 with 100 runs and 50 steals?
Please tell me who I'm overlooking. I've got a team that is in need of extra steals.

I don't think I would draft Pierre in the 4th round but if you are guaranteed 45+SB's you really don't have to worry about SB's the rest of the draft. Plus he helps your team out in runs and avg category so he's not just a one dimensional player. Just my .02
Thanks chipper!!!!
There is such a thing called clutch and David Ortiz is the modern day definition of it

There's several of players I'd take in Round 15 rather than Pierre that early, but you talk about rounds 6/7, I have no problem taking Pierre. His career numbers are excellent, and I fully expect him to go back to them, and have 2005 be an outlier statistical year for Juan.
I'd also just rather not have Ryan Freel on my fantasy team, period.
Ok, I've been thinking about this. Do you mean waiver wire, as in not drafted? I can think of quite a few better options out there value wise (like Figgins late, maybe Pods late, Tavaras late, etc.), but nothing as far as waiver wire.
I've seen Gathright and Nook Logan go undrafted in a couple of leagues, but neither one is Pierre. Gathright has a shot, but it's no guarantee by any means.

Probably not 50 SB's but maybe 40 along with 8-10 HR's, 100 runs and close to a .300 avg. All on the WW
I was typing the above post as this one came in. My guess is either Gathright, or Nook Logan, with Gathright as the #1 guess.

Going on just last year's stats (not projections), the only guy I can see on waiver wires even close to that in a 7 team league is Julio Lugo. Don't tell me you'd rather have Julio Lugo than Juan Pierre...
I'll pencil Pierre in for .310, 110 R, and close to 60 SB.
An optimistic projection for Lugo is maybe .285, 80 R, 30 SB, with about 8 HR's, and similar RBI numbers to Pierre.
I know last year was a good year for Lugo, but his career stats just don't bear out that he's going to put up anywhere near Pierre's numbers.
You're insane! I have him ranked in the 24-36 range in terms of position-adjusted value. By the same logic, you can get cheap power off waivers like Monroe or Mench too. Of course there's guys with Pierre's POTENTIAL like Gathright, Taveras, and Logan but he's guaranteed a job, leadoff spot in front of great hitters, and in a hitter's ballpark. This guy is a steal in the 4th round.
Bold Predictions:
Grady Sizemore will have more value than Jason Bay regardless of draft position
Aramis Ramirez in 155 G will hit over .300 40 HR 110 RBIs
Brian McCann will have more value than Jorge Posada regardless of draft position
