Marquis also moves to a hitters park to a pitchers park if it matter. It does a lil imo.

IF marquis gets traded, it wouldnt be until late in ST. the cards want to be sure of what they have in reyes, wainwright, and ponson. i think the cards would sacrifice a little production in the outfield to have depth at starting pitching. of course, it would clear a few dollars on the payroll and marquis is probably gone after the season anyway. the message also says a "package" beginning with diaz. i wonder what else they would throw in?

the site also mentions the cardinals are one of teams inquiring about miguel cabrera.

The Mets already have their version of Jason Marquis. Please keep him in StL, I beg you...

IMO the Mets have an in-house option that can put up Marquis numbers: Bannister. But I've been wrong before so I better be careful or someone will dig this thread up in six months. ;-)

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

It really doesn't seem a good fit for either team. I don't see Diaz being much of an upgrade over what the Cards already have. Plus they aren't going to trade him until the Reyes/Ponson/Wainright thing is figured out. Marquis won't listen to Duncan and by all accounts Peterson is much more hands on. Chances are they would end up in fist fight before the season is over.
