Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....
This is what has made the cafe what it is. The most informative site on the web. And this post from the most prolific poster on this amazing site.
What else was I going to say other than the obvious?
Most everyone already covered what you need to know. Don't punt any catagories, draft the best players you can, and get as many points in each catagory as possible. There really wasn't much left to say other than the obvious answer.

my question is what do you do with the bench? Use them for RP with good ratios? Use them for Mediocre SPs? Use them for utility players? Or just use them for whatever good is left?
Are you interested in joining a 28 teams dynasty league? If so, PM me.
Our league has a 5 man bench. I try to keep at least one good relief pitcher, preferably someone who might get a save on there that I can put in for a non ace who is facing a tough match or pitching in Coors that week, a couple of steady guys like Emil Brown or Rondell White that I can sub in for someone who might be sitting a couple of games because of a nagging injury or in a really bad slump, and then a couple of high risk, high reward type players, this year someone like Corey Patterson, and I try to make one of those a pitcher.

No point in really ever having a mediocre SP. They'll hurt your ratios and not do much else.. that's where top MRs come in, or situational SPs such as SD or LAD pitchers.
I'll have situational guys on my bench, situational pitchers, or a solid OF. Coors hitters, Tex hitters etc.
...Boston papers now and then suffer a sharp flurry of arithmetic on this score; indeed, for Williams to have distributed all his hits so they did nobody else any good would constitute a feat of placement unparalleled in the annals of selfishness. -Updike
