Where is Barry Bonds falling to?

Postby cmh6476 » Wed Mar 08, 2006 4:09 pm

we just completed round 6, and I had a hard time passing on him. Should I jump at the opportunity if he is still there in round 7?

My team:

David Ortiz
Chone Figgins
Grady Sizemore
Chad Tracy

Rich Harden
Mariano Rivera

standard 12-man 5 x 5 league

i participated in 2 yahoo public drafts about 2 weeks ago and got him in rounds 5 and 6 respectively. but that was before this new book info. came out... i would still yake him in 7, i think he'll play. he's been dealing with this crap for the last 5 years and still managed to be the mvp twice.
you can't live the dream, if you don't play the game

pass the curse to someone else!! he will be lucky to have 100 ab's and is a racist curse on baseball. Its a shame but Bonds would of been remembered without steriods......now in my book he is a racist, jerk period.

There were at least 7 guys on every team I played for that were taking steroids...and then there were another 7 guys that would say that they wanted to take steroids. I'd say about 1/2 of the minor league guys I played with at least tried it once during their careers. I was on a team once that had only a couple of guys that had never done it. All you had to do was ask the clubhouse manager for some, or maybe know the right major leaguer. Bonds is not the only guy that took steroids...he is the best player that took steroids. The entire league turned its back on a health risk that had become part of the game. If you are looking for integrity that was lost a long time ago before Bonds ever hit the juice. I remember my first drug tests...they sent me home with a little bottle and said to come back the next day with a sample. Anybody could have pissed for me...and they were not even going to look for steroids either.

...I took Bonds a pick #92

Bonds went in round 7 of a 12 team keeper league. It being a keeper league probably dropped him a couple pegs. a good pick-up at that point in the draft I think.

Well, I just picked him up in the 8th round, I might have been able to wait another round, but I was in the 11 spot, and wasn't sure if he would have been there in 20 odd picks

He hit a HR yesterday so he's definitely back to form. Now everyone's going to be kicking themselves for taking ARod and Pujols instead of Bonds. :-?
