Some people have major problems with impulsuive activity. I used to do that with minor leaguers a couple of years back.
I would be up in my draft (minor league) and read 1 article about how over the past week JJ Hardy has been hitting the lights out of the ball and I would rush over and take him right away. 3 hours later I would read another article about how Joey Votto is leading the Reds farm system in HRs and average and he'd be the guy I get over Hardy. And so on.
Basically I went by any single asource I found online. You know those yahoo things that pop up as "notes"? My first year of fantasy baseball, I would pick up guys based on those just because they'd say over the past 2-3 games the guy was hot. (Crazy thing is, I WON my first ever public league, autodrafted, without knowing anything about many baseball players. I didn't even know half my team and ranked frank thomas so high I got him in the 5th!)
I think my lineuop was something like this:
Piazza
F.Thomas
Ray Durham
Eric Hinske
Derek Jeter
Carlos beltran
Lance Berkman
Pedro
Smoltz
don't remember the rest. I won the league 5-4 in the championship because of pedro's low WHIP
Sean Tracey has my apologies, we all know Ozzie Guillen is an idiot. I'm rooting for you!
