Hi guys.
I've been trying since Yahoo leauges were open to get some friends together to make a fantasy league. Sadly (Happily?) I was able to snage 7 other guys to make an 8 person league. Im not ruling out the possiblity of getting two more guys, but I highly doubt it.
To make up for the small # of teams, I want to expand the rosters.
So right now I have
Yahoo Head-to-Head 7x7 (BB, K, // HR allowed, CG)
C-2
1B-1
2B-1
3B-1
SS-1
IF-1
OF-4
UTIL-2
SP-4
RP-2
P-3
BN-6
DL-2
Does that sound right? Or is it too small/too big?

i would suggest K/9 or K/BB...anything but CG,
so few of them will result in many ties in that cat. throughout the season....
I didn't really say everything I said.

Playing 2 catchers is bad, even in a small league. Replace one of those catchers and the IF slot with a CI slot and an MI slot.
Oh, and don't play CG as a category. That's a category that'll end up 1-0 or 0-0 every week. Play K/9 instead.

i play in one, and you really need to add positions to make it tenable.
I roll with:
C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, CI, MI, IF, OF, OF, OF, OF, Util, SP, SP, SP, SP, SP, SP, RP, RP, RP, RP, P, P, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, DL, D
It may be too much, but you want it to be flexible, and not so shallow that it becomes luck as to which stud outperforms which stud.

From what I read in the AL/NL Only league discussion, a mixed AL&NL league here would be overkill on talent (just luck on stud performances), but a AL/NL Only league would challenge the fantasy owners more with the roster building as the talen pool will be cut in half, and it would be as if you're playing in a 16 team mixed league.

This is the best solution!

I'm in an 8-team league and for offense, we use:
(2) 1B, (1) 2B, (2) 3B, (1) SS, (1) MI, (4) OF, (1) C, (1)
Otherwise, everyone has a superstar team.
