Here is my top 10 middle relief pitchers.

1. Shields
2. Linebrink
3. Duchscherer
4. Rincon
4. Wheeler
5. Madson
6. Farnsworth
7. Hermanson
8. Eyre
9. Seánez
10. Betancourt

How does this look?
Are there any other rankings for Middle relievers on the cafe?

5. Madson is probably in the rotation.
4. Rincon's coming off surgery and is at least a ?. I may be downgrading him soon.
9. Seanez is just too injury prone to rank this high.

Looper, Baez, and Howry deserve a nod.

If Bowyer sets up in FL, he's on this list.

Tommy John wrote:Why is everyone higher on Wheeler than Qualls. His numbers are better and is stated that he is the set-up man for the Astros (which would lead you to believe he will have the better numbers) but Qualls had 22 holds last year while Wheeler had 17. From a holds standpoint, who will have more this year??

"Stated" where? Wheeler has been confirmed as the 8th inning guy, and I have yet to read anything to the contrary this entire off-season. Unless he loses that role, he will have many more hold chances than Qualls.

Does anyone see a return to 8th inning dominance for LaTroy Hawkins? I hear he has looked very good in camp.

I think LaTroy may be a good pick. He has few challengers for that set-up role in Baltimore.
