They just reported on the news here in Phoenix that he passed away.

I'm 47 Yrs old and I have named 4 pets after athletes. Yaz, Boggs, Julius and Kirby. Even as a Red Sox fan it was hard not to root for Kirby.

Heaven just got a new CF. Rest in peace

I was and still am a huge Kirby Puckett fan, he was my childhood idol growing up in Minnesota, though news to swallow, we love ya Kribs.

One of the few players from other teams that I really really followed. I was like 7 when they won the WS in 1991 and I remember being in awe when watching him in that series.

I even read a biography on him in like High School. I am sad to here this news.

He was my favorite player growing up. I dont remember much about the 91 World Series (I was 4 1/2) but i do remember being very upset the day he was forced to retire. :,-(
