Sad to hear. His brilliant playing career ended early and now his life ended early.
He was an awesome player and fun to watch.

I'm 47 Yrs old and I have named 4 pets after athletes. Yaz, Boggs, Julius and Kirby. Even as a Red Sox fan it was hard not to root for Kirby.
Heaven just got a new CF. Rest in peace

One of the few players from other teams that I really really followed. I was like 7 when they won the WS in 1991 and I remember being in awe when watching him in that series.
I even read a biography on him in like High School. I am sad to here this news.
You have no frame of reference, Donny. You're like a child who walks into the middle of a movie...

He was my favorite player growing up. I dont remember much about the 91 World Series (I was 4 1/2) but i do remember being very upset the day he was forced to retire.
Here's to you Kirby

RIP Puck, You played the game the way it was supposed to be played, with grace, hard work and dignity.
