here's the thing with drafting santana that you might want to keep in mind: he's a notoriously slow starter. you might want to hold off drafting him (unless he somehow falls out of the first round...hey, stranger things have happened); electing rather to make a trade for him when his value has dropped a bit.
just throwing that out there.
david wright (whom i would take) or d.lee might be better choices with that pick.
D. Wright with the 7th pick????????? Have people gone mad? That's ridiculous. The only thing you could argue in the past is for position scarcity. 3B is deep. Wright will hit 5th in that stud lineup, but there is still no way you take him before a Derrek Lee or Johan Santana.

No way...not in a league where a hitter can help in all nine categories...at best, Johan can help in seven. I'd take MCab.
Wrong forum, btw.
helping in 7/9 categories is only a little less useful than helping in 4/5. johan would be a fine choice here, but with the extra emphasis on individual hitting stats (K, TB, OPS, 2Bs), a lot of the down-side to taking MCab goes away. I wouldn't feel bad about taking either one, although I might get the advantage to Cabrera.
