I will be drafting next week in a first year dynasty league. Instead of drafting a few top 30 dollar players who I wouldn't be able to keep in a few years would it be better to draft cheaper players who won't be peaking for a couple of years like gomes and hermida.
Basically I'm asking if I should draft for the present or future?

I will be participating in my first keeper draft this year, but from what I've read you should always draft for the present and not the future.
Just think if you had drafted Grienke or Patterson b/c of their 'potential'.

Save room for some top prospects like Hermida or Verlander, but don't center your team around them. You NEED some of those star player, both for your performance this season, and for leverage in trades.
