Jose Guillen: (Wrist) Out at Least Three Months

RotoWire.com Staff - RotoWire.com
Friday, March 3, 2006
Update: Guillen will be out for at least three months after a Thursday MRI uncovered a damaged tendon in his left wrist, the Nationals website reports.

Recommendation: He's been experiencing pain in the wrist for the last two weeks, but his first official batting practice session of the spring on Wednesday aggravated it enough that tests became necessary. Guillen was already recovering from offseason shoulder surgery.

They say he's going in for a second opinion, but it's quite likely he'll need the suregry.

On a related note, there's no way Soriano's leaving now, unless someone offers them a stud outfielder for him. They've just lost one of their best bats.

Both Dr. Thomas Graham, the Nationals' medical director, and Reds doctor Tim Kremchek indicated today that there was no tendon damage in Jose Guillen's left wrist. He won't need surgery and could resume playing in just seven to 10 days.

After seeing a second doctor, the surgery's been called off. They think he'll be back up to full strength in about 2 weeks.

yeah, and after seeing a third doctor they've realized he's a malcontent who hasn't had a good season in 2 years, and that can't seem to hit worth a lick in the 2nd largest stadium in baseball. :-P
you can't live the dream, if you don't play the game
