i would say your line-up looks good except for the big injury questions, Bonds, Giambi, and Dunn always seem to be on the DL. Pitching looks solid. Not alot of help if/when the big guys go down.

I don't like the fact that you took Bonds in the 8th round. There is a lot of talent left in the 8th round, and you may have been able to get a non-steroid, and injury resistant outfielder... Now, Bonds can hit 35 HR's this year, but there is always a chance that his knee puts him out for the year again... This could be a great pick, or a really bad one, there is no in between with Bonds.

Thanks for the reply. I do agree that Bonds was a risky pick, and there were more "sure thing" OF's there at that point of the draft (i.e Edmonds, Floyd, Griffey), but at that point, I felt that I could not ignore Bonds 35-45 HR potential and the ridiculously high OBP's of his past. Time will tell if it works out or not.

I'll review your roster if you got a link. ;-D

Yeah, I don't really have a big bench, I'll admit that, and those three guys have had some injury problems, but I did think of some contingency plans:

1. Dunn gets hurt. Insert Nixon in the lineup, or slide Freel over to OF and have another bench player be the 2nd UTIL guy.
2. Bonds gets hurt. See above.
3. Giambi gets hurt. I have a plethora of 1B. I could slide Utley or Dunn over and fill their positions with Mueller, Nixon, or the Freel/bench player combo or just sub him for Youkilis if he's swinging a hot bat.

I have some options, but trust me, I do wish I had a bigger bench. I'll review your roster right away. ;-D

I don't have much faith in Bonds, but I cannot fault the pick in the 8th round. I'm a little concerned by your starting pitching...I probably would have tried to sneak in a second quality starter somewhere before the 10th pick...maybe Blalock or Cordero could have waited. Other than that, it looks ok. I don't think it will win, but you have a shot at a high finish.

Blalock was a pick that I regretted not too long after I made it. I should have drafted a SP there, I wholeheartedly agree, then I could have gone after a 3B a few rounds later.[/b]

Like my young team neds to live upto potential, your older yet wiser team also needs to. Hopefully injuries won't become a problem. I like your pitching.

Thanks for mine.
