MIAMI (AP) -- Florida Marlins slugger Miguel Cabrera agreed Thursday to a one-year contract that will pay him $472,000 in the majors, meaning he'll likely be one of baseball's best bargains again this season.

Hey he agreed to it. It's like PIT offering Jack Wilson a lucrative contract even though he is already under contract for this year and he clearly doesn't deserve it.

If Miguel is happy and he produces as he says in the article, he will get more than enough money in his lifetime.

Exactly. It's ridiculous to think about almost, but Cabrera could have another 20 years in the majors. In my opinion, the next guy who deserves a contract similar to the ones A-rod and Manny got, is Cabreral. He knows the score. And a half milllion is nothing to scoff at; especially in Florida which has no state income tax.
Let's go O's. Let's go Mets.

Not if he gets injured...this was a very bad move on Miggy's part. :-/
