I wouldn't say that. If a team, not necessarily the Cards, was interested in a Soriano as a 2B (Mets, for example) and were willing to give a fair price for him, I would think that the Nats would trade him. He's not going to have a good attitude as long as he's in the OF, and an unmotivated player generally plays below his level and can even bring down other players on the team.

It isn't even having Soriano in the clubhouse that is bad it is having him at 2B. The Cards pitchers rely too much on the ground ball and defense to have Soriano at 2B.
Ditto. Maybe Walt's just waiting for the Nats to break him in out in left.
KMOX reported the Soriano rumor again today but with extra emphasis, making it seem like less of a rumor and more of a fact.
I guess he'd do fine in the OF here, but if he was coming here to play OF, why would he leave Wash?
1. Bad relationship with management. 2. To win. 3. Impending FA year. Even without seeing a game in the new stadium I can tell you it can't be worse than RFK for hitters. Plus the Cards lineup blows away the Nats. That and a chance to showcase his talents in post-season (hopefully).
Still I don't want him on the infield. He'd do more harm than good.
Those are all great reasons, but I don't see any sort of deal coming to fruition. Like JT said, there are enough teams out there willing to trade for him and let him play second that none of those reasons would even be entertained. I wouldn't mind seeing him play for the Cardinals since it seems that guys coming to STL love the atmosphere and the fans (and winning always helps) but it's probably as likely as Marquis being dealt. Hey, there's an idea ...

Is it Bigbie, Taguchi, J-Rod, or still up-for-grabs?
All of the above. Sorry...
Pretty much. It'll be a platoon until one of them proves themself .. and I'm not really holding out hope that anyone of those three does it. Taguchi is more of a super-sub, Rodriguez still has too many holes in his swing to be an everyday player, and I don't know much of anything about Bigbie.

I think Taguchi will get most of the AB to start. J-Rod will be lucky to make the team. Most likely he starts in AAA. Bigbie has been hurt and missed a lot of Spring Training with a bad foot. If/when healthy he and Taguchi should split playing time.
