Who Should I consider Trading?

Postby X1088LoD » Thu Mar 02, 2006 1:04 pm

This is a 20 team league
Stats: R, HR, RBI, SB, BB, AVG, W, CG, SV, K, ERA, WHIP

Probably 4 teams have punted Saves and another 5 only have 1 closer. Rosters are deep and 20 teams, so rosters are pretty thin all around, so the waivers are practically devoid of talent.

Should I consider moving someone, or riding what I got. What are your thoughts?

C: Brian McCann
1B: Nick Johnson
2B: Bill Mueller
3B: Alex Rodriguez
SS: Nomar Garciaparra
LF: Emil Brown
CF: Andruw Jones
RF: Jeromy Burnitz
UTIL: Carlos Beltran
UTIL: Khalil Greene
Bench: Ben Broussard, Larry Bigbie

SP: Carlos Zambrano
SP: Mike Mussina
SP: Rodrigo Lopez
RP: Bob Wickman
RP: Bobby Jenks
P: Matt Clement
P: Bronson Arroyo
Bench: Russ Ortiz, Ted Lilly, LaTroy Hawkins, Jason Johnson

For a 20 team league, I definitely think you have a good team. YOu have good young talent with a mix of solid veterans. If Beltran bounces back you should be solid on offense. I can't imagine too many teams have a whole load of power in your league.Speed may be a problem depending on how often Beltran runs. Your SP looks pretty good. Moose's stats have slowly inflated the past couple of seasons, but he can still be a good #2. Zambrano should be excellent as your ace. Your RP looks pretty solid for 20 teams. I like Clement and Arroyo at the backend of your rotation. I don't know what you would be willing to trade or what you think you need. I guess a lot of that depends on how you stack up in relation to the other teams. I think that for 20 teams though, you should be near the top.

Agreed. For 20 teams that is pretty solid. Latroy Hawkins could be cut though. Obviously there isn't much avail on your waivers with that many teams, but I would have to think that taking a deep sleeper would be better than having Latroy on your roster. He doesn't offer much at all.

Thanks for the advice (didnt realize i posted this in wrong forum until after i posted), i like my team, i feel pretty solid all around, except speed, but very few teams will be outright superior to mine in SB's,

Demand for A-Rod is so big in this league, but I have yet to be offered anything worth looking at, im either giving away too much or not getting enough back, so I have no problem at all hanging on to him, since i know what ill get outta him, where I have a lot of hopefuls on the team, like McCann, id rather not have a team of ?'s

I snagged Hawkins for now to check out how the closer role develops in Baltimore, but he is my guy to drop when I find that sleeper.

Curse waiver priority and Delmon Young.

Thanks guys!
