PLEASE HELP ROOKIE RATE TEAM

Postby wroclawredsox » Thu Mar 02, 2006 8:36 am

I am a first time fantasy player in Poland. I am in a 5x5 non keeper, head to head(yahoo public), 11 teams.

Team:

c- kendall
1b- teixeira
2b-f. lopez
3b-mi. cabrera
ss- rollins
of- crisp
of- rowand
of- lane
util- konerko
b-d. young
b- dellucci
b- l. gonzalez

s- oswalt
s- lowry
r- fr. rodruigez
r- wagner
p- duke
p- turnbow
p- macdougal
bn- blanton
bn- liriano

Thinking I need a strong #2 starter and have a reliever to give. Also, maybe more power from my outfield.

Last, not happy with kendall. Should I dick up Loduca istead?

Trade Duke

Postby valnas » Thu Mar 02, 2006 8:39 am

There are plenty of people out there who will overvalue duke in trades due to his unreal performance down the stretch. His stuff is good, but not nearly that good. Turn him and one of your OF for a #2 type starter that is 26-32ish in good health and you should be set. Delluci is a nice bench player btw.

not a bad team.
i think you could use a little more power in your of, but other than that the batters are good.
your pitchers are good, but yah if you can get a solid #2 starting pitcher via trade, all the better

Yea, you very much need another solid SP. I'd feel happy with Oswalt, Lowry, and Blanton.. but Liriano might start in Triple A, so takes his value away completely.

Try trading Duke and Turnbow for another starter, and possibly a cheap good OF bat (Geoff Jenkins, Jay Gibbons, Brad Wilkerson, Kevin Mench type.) Eh, might as well keep Kendall, though it's your call.
...Boston papers now and then suffer a sharp flurry of arithmetic on this score; indeed, for Williams to have distributed all his hits so they did nobody else any good would constitute a feat of placement unparalleled in the annals of selfishness. -Updike

I agree with some of the analysis. I think your pitching is good, Blanton should do well. Duke is probably overvalued..so ya might be able to get something descent for him. Good Luck!

agreed, you hit it right on the head, balanced offense, catcher position could use an upgrade.. but its also a position where people get hurt.. so watch the WW.

Def. need a #2. I was in the same predicament.

Pretty well done, overall. Send out Turnbow for that #2 starter you desperately need, and i think you'll be okay to compete this season. Watch out for having too many young dudes, tho.

I don't like your outfield. Crisp is Ok but Lane AND Rowand are gonna cause this offense to fall short. Watch Dmitri Young. If he is playing then he should be putting up better numbers than Lane or Rowand. In the Yahoo leagues Young is outfield eligable. Pitching doesn't look good. Closers are very solid butnot SP. You got Oswalt then....nothing. unless pitching is improved then it looks like this team will fall short in a 11 team league......
