I've heard the same things... I was actually surprised he was still around when position players reported to ST.
I agree with a lot of other people in saying he has top 10 starter potential. I don't really follow the DRays so this question is more for people that have seen him, is anyone worried about his mechanics or size (6'1" 170)? Thanks
Scott Kazmir, SP (rank: 41) - Devil Rays Whom does Kazmir remind me of? I'm thinking Mark Langston. Like Langston, Kazmir is lefthanded, slightly built, throws very hard and has bite on the breaking stuff. Also like Langston, he has poor control, reaches his pitch count too early and fatigues an inning earlier than he should. Fantasy Source spin: It took Langston years to correct this, and we're predicting the same for Kazmir, especially if he is facing AL East opponents just less than half the time. We wish we could give you a better prognosis, but it's just not realistic. (Brendan Roberts/TSN)

Good read, but not more right than the rest of the opinions on the thread. Crystal balls are out of production, apparently.
He has dynamite stuff...control is obviously the issue. If he gains it, expect top 10 in the league stuff. If not, a back of the rotation, nothing more.
Kazmir threw a good game on Friday. I know it's only one start but he threw 2 innings with 2 k's and no walks. Not walking anyone in 2 innings for him is no small achievement. We'll see if he can continue....
