I would suggest doing a few debates at the same time. I dont think taking two months for the first round is the most efficient use of time. Doing two or three at the same time wont flood much, but will speed things up a lot.

The way we will end up running it will problem change dramatically pretty soon. We are looking to get a seperate room set up so that things don't get lost in the clutter of the leftovers forum, and so at that point we will be able to have mutiple debates running at the same time with polls for voting, and also with a set of posted rules, the schedule, etc. We may temporarily suspend the debates until we get that up, but once we do hopefully we can get a system running smoothly. I also think that in the future we will probably have the arguments submitted to a panel member via PM and then posted anonymously so that people don't take cafe standing and/or grudges against people into account in their voting. With that said, thank you very much to both dallauz and supasonic for being on top of the ball, and putting together a pair of well articulated arguements to open the tourney

I think it's probably a little of both. Plus, you were one of the first 500 members. It was easier to remember who you were when you were one of a very few members. It's easier to make a mark.

looks like you rung up 424.....big RJ pulls down a crisp 258. holla back. i still remember the good old days with the few members of exceptional quality and thoughtfullness, although i do like the mass opinions too.

What is the format for these debates? Does each person only get to make one post to argue their points? Or will we be able to offer counterpoints to the other person's arguments? And if so how many times will we be able to respond. Also, how is it decided who goes first?

If these questions have already been answered somewhere and I missed it could someone please point me in the right direction.
