Overall, I think I did well in 3 Cat's, HR's (This lineup will pile it on, across the board), SB's, I have some decent speed, (Furcal, Sizemore, Winn, then above avg. guys with power.. Lee, with 13 last year, Wright with 17...) and lastly RBI's.
Mediocre Offensive cat's with "potential", I see R's with Winn and Durham hitting in front of Bonds, IF healthy, could be big for me, and Sizemore, Furcal and Ellis, will get thiers.
I think the worst Offensive Cat. will be AVG on this team, which is pretty good, cuse it should be around .285-.290.
Offense I give an A- to A.
Pitching.. BLECH.
I took Pedro, b/c I saw the "injuries" in Boston, as well as the "Father's B-Day's", which leads me to believe this foot thing is for him to get out of the WBC, he'll be fine opening day, but I am willing to go out there and get some more reliable options. Plus, I have found that as the season goes on, you can pick up rather reliable guys in hot-streaks, and conversely see guys hit cold streaks, so.
Patterson treated me well last year, I think he's under-rated, as long as he stays healthy. Hoffman is consistent, barring injury. Valverde.. if he wins the CL role should help.
Webb, Haren, Lowry and Lieber are average at best, good fillers.
Pitching I give a B-, IF people stay healthy, otherwise, I give it a C-.
Just below average.
So, what do you guys think? Am I right on? Or am I missing something?
I think you pretty much summed it up. Mark Ellis could score you some runs. He scored close to 80 last year in limited at bats. Good value in the 19th round. Another SP would be nice, but your pitching isn't that bad. I am not sold on Rowand, but that is just me.
Your offense is shweeeet. Love it. I don't really understand how ensberg fits into the mix but that offense has some very good hitters. Pitching is weak. If you lose pedro to injuries it's over. Haren should be OK but Jon Lieber and Brandon Webb can't anchor a staff. Hoffman is solid and valverde could be good. Your not going to dominate pitching but if it stays healthy and everyone performs it should do good enough. That offense looks like a league leader to me. I think you'll contend.
I think you could get better the Myers for ensberg. I don;t think ensberg will produce last years stat. but you may be able to sell high and get better SP then myers. Myers is at best a #3. I would trade Rowand. To valuable to just drop. He is an everyday player in a hitter friendly park. Maybe get a relieve to help ERA.
Maybe package ensberg and rowand for myers and a RP? That could pay off...And i disagree with the above webb statement, I think he will have a good year...
