I drafted this one on sunday in a cafe league. My closers leave much to be desired and Thome is a gamble, but otherwise I like it. Suggestions?

C J. Varitek
1B J. Thome
2B C. Figgins
3B A. Ramirez
SS R. Furcal
OF M. Ramirez
OF P. Burrell
OF B. Giles
Util G. Anderson
Util M. Alou
BN S. Green
BN R. Hernandez
BN J. Hardy

SP R. Halladay
SP M. Buehrle
RP J. Isringhausen
RP M. Gonzalez
P N. Lowry
P L. Hernandez
P C. Reitsma
BN J. Seo
BN J. Washburn

Obviously I'll be riding the closer carousel this season.

I like your offense. TOns of speed with guys like Figgins and Furcal. Power is there as well with the Ramirez's and potentially Thome. Average should be decent. You have two excellent catchers. If you need something, you could definitely afford to deal one of those guys. You have your aces in Hallady and Buehrle. Closers are weak. I like Izzy, but not Gonzalez for this year. I just don't think he'll get very many opportunities playing in Pittsburgh this year. Reitsma could end up losing the job sometime this year, so keep an eye on him. I like Lowry. Livian is a horse and will eat up the innings. Seo and Washburn are also good picks, especially with their home parks. I think you should be good.

Your team is pretty well built. I might consider dealing Halladay for two lesser pitchers..Maybe Halladay for a Harden and Hoffman type deal to help shore up your closer role. Then again, you may just want to wait it out and see if you can find somone on waivers. A guy to look at would be Travis Boyer for the Marlins...

Very good offense. there is enough talent there to carry you. If Thome has a bad year it's going to tough but you can still survive. I like Buehrle and halladay. They are both good for 15+ wins IMO. Your assement of your closers is accurate. go with whoever is doing well. Doesn't look to bad but doesn't look like number one either 7 out of 10. ... p?t=172467
