I have had a trade proposed to me - I get B. Roberts, B. Fuentes, M. Alou for Trevor Hoffman. Should I do that, and where should I go about upgrading this team...Any advice helps, especially ideas on my SP...

My team:

C - R. Hernandez
1b - T. Helton
2b - R. Cano
SS - F. Lopez
3b - M. Mora
OF - C. Crawford
OF - J. Bay
OF - A. Dunn
Util - J. Hermedia
Bench: R. Sanders

SP - Peavy
SP - Z. Duke
RP - Fr. Rodriguez
RP - J. Isgrinhausen
P - B. Jenks
P - T. Hoffman
P - J. Blanton
Bench: C. Young, G. Maddox, M. Timlin

I think I would do that trade, and drop timlin/sanders.

I think having roberts as 2b and alou in util is a better upgrade than the hoffman to fuentes downgrade. Hermida is still hard to predict, so I think not having to rely on him starting would be better situation for you.

Otherwise, very solid hitting, above average pitching (great if the young guys continues success from last year)

You got a lot of speed but no big hitters. It looks like you took hernandez early, something I hate doing... wasting an early pick on a catcher. Helton, Mora, Dunn are all questionmarks. The only solid power you got is Bay. I'd take the trade and maybe look into putting a trade together with Crawford to get more power.

It's certainly a good trade, but if he's willing to do that, maybe he's willing to help you in areas you need it more. Your offense doesn't need the upgrade as much as your SP. Counter T Hoffmanf for B Fuentes and a #2 starter. And, for the record, I wouldn't call Helton a questionmark...he's had 8 consecutive seasons hitting .315 and 20 HRs (25 in every year he didn't spend time on the DL).

I like your team and I would pull the trigger on that trade and drop Timlin and Sanders. I'm not sure why you've got so many closers unless it's a shallow league, so I'd probably try to trade away one of them. I don't like your rotation, try to get a good SP for one of the closers, or counter the deal to have it include an SP.

I would defintely go about doing that trade and then drop Sanders and Timlin. I would also go about looking into getting another SP, that's about the only weakness I could fgind with your team. I definitely like your team and think you have a good balance of speed and power. I also like the Ramon Hernandez pick and think he's going to have a very solid year in Baltimore. Overall, very nice team, I like it a lot.

take that trade, drop timlin and maddox, you wont be using them a lot.

Brob could have another stellar year (not as good, but almost as good as last season). Alou's age worries me, but he makes for a quality substitute. and i agree with icepak, wait and see how hermedia develops, until then sanders/alou/brob can be quality.

dont sweat the power too much, bay dunn and helton will be good for you there.

keep an eye on fuentes, everyone says he's fine in Coors Field, but i tend to worry... that gives you krod, izzy, jenks & fuentes at RP... lots of depth, if you could move jenks for a decent #3 your rotation would be awesome. the only reason i suggest Jenks is because Guillen doesnt seem to place any importance whatsoever on the Save statistic.

i like the youth of the rotation though, very bold, could pay off big time

yeah so you need to add another starter you can't bank on Duke and Blanton for great years again and Peavy while a beast only won 13 games last year..... your hitting is great theres no denying it and i think Hermida will be huge this year paired with crawford helton mora dunn etc i like your situation if you add a starter and gl this year

my links in my siggy, thanks alot

Your offense looks strong. I wouldn't do that trade because you don't really need what is being offered. There is no reason cano won't put up numbers similar to roberts. You should try and trade hoffman for a starting pitcher. You've got peavy then....nothing. Oh yeah, timlin is worhtless. You should know middle reliefe is pointless in fantasy....
