I don't like the news coming out of the Chavez camp...he'll play less this spring, opted not to have surgery on his chronic shoulder problem, and now will play less this spring. He is a notoriously slow starter...now with less playing time this spring, what can we expect? I am questioning the fact that I kept Chavez.
I really don't like the news either. Apparently it doesn't affect him when hitting which means it is probably rotator cuff or something. He might spend some time at DH if he can't throw, but I'm sure they will find ways to get him in the lineup, even if it means Thomas sits.

If you don't have him, trade for him during his slow start at a low price.
If you do have him, try and trade him now while his stock is solid, then re-acquire him during his slow start.
Good points, that is the way to be thinking. However, off season trading is a no-no in this league.

I doubt it though, a lingering injury will probably hamper him from getting into the rhythm he needs to put up good numbers. I don't like this news either, especially with the news about Crosby's injuries.
