But I just heard on Boston sports radio that the Nationals are now dangling Soriano at the Red Sox in hopse of getting some pitching. Possibly Bronson Arroyo. I had heard they were trying to send the Sox Nick Johnson over the weekend.
Soriano @ Fenway. Yummy.

i couldn't imagine the sox only giving up arroyo though
There wasn't much in the way of details there. I would imagine they would also have to include Mark Loretta, unless they are planning on trying to stick Soriano in right field (Even though he has said publically he does not want to play OF), and then maybe they include Trot Nixon.
There is also Matt Clement and David Wells. Wells wants out of town.

he was bad on the road, but hitting at fenway is a clear upgrade from being a whiny OF in DC.

Never said it wasn't. But Soriano outside of the BallPark at Arlington was nothign short of awful last season.

I'm too lazy to make a sig at the moment

the deal would make a whole lot of sense.
i really like arroyo; he has some wicked stuff on his pitches when he's on. but it's not like he's a 22-year old pitcher: he's getting up there and whatever he has now, is what he's going to have. and wells actively wants to be traded (albeit to the other coast).
and the sox need another reliable bat in their lineup.
i like this idea a whole lot. which means, of course, that it will never happen.
