They are pretty close.. Both will put out very simular .300 ave, 40+ HR, 120+ RBI type seasons. BUT If I had to choose, Ortiz is the man mainly because he's not a whiner and will always be in the DH spot day in day out (and 1st for interleague!) no matter what putting up his massive all world #'s. To me he was the best hitter in the majors last year posting his .300 ave, 47 HR's and 148 RBI's.. CASE CLOSED!
To me it is Ortiz, simply because he is less likely to get injured by not playing the field. Although if Ortiz does not have 1b elgibilty in your league, I would go with Manny.
Ortiz, but my league has 2 utility spots and a CI so you can load up on 1B if you want. It also has 5 OF slots but I still like Ortiz more, Manny's skills are starting to deteriorate.

According to who? Did you see the numbers Manny put up last year?
Manny's totals were lovely last year, though it was the first time in years that he's posted an OPS under 1.000. I had Manny last year and got the feeling that he wasn't producing at the same level as Manny in previous recent years, some of which I've also owned him in.
Still, I'd take Manny over Ortiz because the OF, although the position is well-populated, is fairly weak for its size. Even more so in my league, where the OF is split up by position in LF, CF, and RF.
