Does anybody have any good names for players that really are only good against righties or lefties. So that if you have 2 players at 1 position..and 1 is only worth starting against lefties or righties..you can start the other instead to have an advantage.
For example I love guys like Ryan Howard and Carlos Delgado because when you start them against righties you know they are as valuable as Pujols at 1b. Howard 251 AB 21 hr 57 rbi .323 avg against riighties..Delgado 380 AB 26 hr 88 rbi .326 avg against righties..Both of these guys are worthless against lefties..so you can draft another 1b in the late rounds...
Id like to get this strategy in the OF...last year tried it Floyd, Jenkins, worked out pretty well..like some other ideas if possible..for lesser known guys as Delgado and Howard..so I can get some good value in the later rounds platooning.

Trot Nixon kills righties, sits against lefties. Dave Delucci is another. Jacque Jones. Justin Morneau.

What you really want is two guys on the same team, so you are always maximizing the match-up. Dellucci and Mench come to mind. Last year I used Walker and Hairston after Vidro got hurt. The composite of these 2 guys was not a top 5 2B, but was a lot better than anything on the WW at mid-season.

Kevin Mench / Shawn Green or Jose Guillen / Aaron Rowand work too.

I think the best platoon to take advantage of would be the cincinatti catcher position.
Together those two put up some awesome numbers last year.
